Embrace Japan and All That It Has To Offer

In order to embrace another culture, one must immerse themselves in the language, music and food of the culture. Japan is a very structured society and varies from one end of the country to the other. In urban areas like Tokyo, an individual may go about their life minute by minute, and pay strict attention to time -- and in suburban areas, one may end up forgetting about what time it is or how much time has passed. All Japanese however share three things in common: use of language, traditions and love of food. Sushi is not eaten every day in Japan, but IS served on special occasions. In North America, it has become popular -- and is served more frequently. You will not find many places that serve California Rolls in Japan. Sushi bars are more likely to serve Nigiri, another form of sushi. Other forms of sushi are Temakisushi, Inarisushi and Oshisushi. Whether one makes sushi themselves or orders it, the possibilities are almost endless. Making California Rolls can take around 2 hours, so some- times ordering it is better. Just call up you local sushi restaurant and ask for the sushi by name (ika, ikura ...) See if you can remember the Japanese names.
