My Background
Having graduated from 2 BCIT programs with distinction, I now focus on content creation and e-learning via YouTube. Today we have YouTube, AI, and frameworks like Phaser and Node.js. You too can dip your feet into these technologies and discover what can be done. Starting from the basics, I’ll take you step-by-step through examples, helping you build the skills needed to succeed. After I graduated from BCIT's Web Technologies program in 2013, I started ARC Web Design. Back then, one thing that I learnt is that I should have had an accountant; running a business is not always straightforward. In 2015, I made a decision to seek work at SAP.
Whether it is building responsive portfolios, automating tasks with AI or creating interactive web applications, I’ve spent years navigating the evolving technical landscape (hardware & software), and want to simplify that for you. Having started in electronics in November 1986, I eventually veered away from the 2nd electronics program in August 1989, to enter yet another program: Computer Infomation Systems. As a result, I only finished the Open Learning Agency program, prolonging it until January 1993. The other program, that I started in September 1988, was an electronics specialty program that also covered software training.
Pandemic Detour
When the pandemic struck in April 2020, both me and my wife were jobless. Reaching out to Filipinos in our community, we delivered food that was cooked in our home; deliveries often had to be delivered by bus as we did did not buy our car until August 2021. At the time, I started teaching again, but applying my Provincial Instructor skills in the classroom was not working out as well as expected. (The last time I taught in the classroom was in 2008.) By April 2021, my wife got me a job at Mott 32 as a Culinary Steward. Since April, I have been using AI to plan the launch of my YouTube channel, where instruction will be provided online.
A lot has changed since April 2021. I have since returned to my roots in music composition, web design, and interest in game development. I am a creative individual that has an interest in jazz composition and Beatles compositions. As listed on this site's homepage, they are part of my BCIT portfolio (2011 - 2013) that I completed prior to joining SAP in 2016. I was with them until November 2017. Determined to improve my web design/development skills, by September 2018, I was enrolled in Applied Web Development. The program extended upon my training in Web Technologies.
A Day In The Life
Sometimes when you least expect it, your life can take an unexpected turn, just like in The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. Today, it is July 21, 2026, and the road ahead is one that I started in April. As a content creator, I work 9 to 5 at home, handling tasks that lie before me. Something that is important, just like at SAP, is ongoing task tracking. As I am no longer making use of JIRA, like I did back then, I am making use of something that most people have access to: Excel.
The transition from working for an emplyer to once again working for myself has not always been easy. Having made an investment in a collapsible Raubay green screen, one of my first tasks is to create episode 1 of my video series. As I am the only one handling any of the tasks for ARC Web Instruction, some of the tasks that I planned to complete today will be postponed until tomorrow or the next day. Today is particularly hot and I do not always feel like attending to the work at hand. From Monday to Friday, I am often interrupted — and today is no exception (July 21st). I shall eventually get to what I planned today later this evening.
