Destinations

Rivendell --- $750

Rivendell is synonymous with rest and relaxation. Get away from it all and visit the ancestral home of the Elves. We have 1 day excursions to the Trollshaws, and trains depart for Moria once a day from here. Note: Some areas of Moria are closed to the public, as some fear that there is still a Balrug deep within. We suggest that you get travel insurance as well as a good map of the area.

Erebor --- $1,000

Are you a treasure hunter? Take part in one of Erebor's many treasure hunts -- and see if you can find some Mithril. Taken from Moria, each year, Erebor celebrates its the passing of Smaug with a treasure hunt like no other. Stronger than steel, it is lightweight and useful at LOTR parties!! If you go deep enough, you may even find precious gems like the Arkenstone (priceless today).

Bag-End --- $300

Now a museum, Bag End was once the home of Bilbo Baggins. Like Bilbo, it is well preserved. Now owned and run by the Sam Gamgee Foundation, you can enjoy fine wine, cheeses and baked fish -- and even play a round of golf nearby. Yes, golf was invented in the Shire long ago. There are also well-tended gardens. Sam went overseas long ago, but you'll still find many Gamgees in the area.

Believe it or not, Leonard Nimoy is a Hobbit. He played Mr. Spock on Star Trek. Those pointy ears are actually ...
yes, you've got it: Hobbit ears. These days, Hobbits are taller. Today, an average Hobbit is 5 ft tall, not 2.5 ft tall.
